| Beijing | The "University Area" of Beijing? Posted: Sun May 18, 2008 01:12 AM UTC
I am attending the Summer Olympics in Beijing. Several events that I plan to see are NOT located on the Olympic Green. Specifically, they will be held at various universities in Beijing.
1. Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics Gymnasium 2. Beijing Science and Technology University Gymnasium 3. China Agricultural University Gymnasium HELP!!! I can't find them on any map. What subway exits are best? Where can I get maps of these universities? |

1) http://www.gotopku.cn/pku/images/pkumap.swf --> there's a gymnasium and track near the south, but I don't know if that's the right place.
2) http://xiaoyou.ustb.edu.cn/htm/images/ustbmap.jpg 3) http://www.9tour.cn/Map/s21449.html http://en.beijing2008.cn/emap/ might also be of help to you.

A lot of those venues are near the northwest between the North Fourth Ring Road and North Fifth Ring Road. Wudaokou and Qinghuayuanzhan stops on subway line 13 are the closest, but still a bit far to walk.
Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics Gymnasium is called 'Beihang' for short and is near Xueyuan Qiao. Beijing Science and Technology University Gymnasium is off of Chengfu Lu. CAU Gymnasium is also not far from the other two. There will probably be lots of maps available in Beijing. CITS offices or the Friendship Stores around town are a good bet. If you want to get a map in advance in the U.S.A, you could try Borders bookstore. Have fun!

Wecome to Beijing for Olympics!
I am a post-graduate of Science and Technology University, Beijing(USTB). The Gymnasium for judo and taekwondo is just near my dormitory building. And Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics locates just next to my campus, I can you give you specific information about how to travel between these Gymnasiums and your hotel. You can contact me through e-mail, and tell me which hotel you have reserved.
