Dubai Toursit / Transit Visa
Posted: Sat May 17, 2008 01:44 PM UTC
I am planning to visit Dubai with family. I have been told by travel agent that Emirates airline provides 14 day transit visa. I would like to know when the day count will start:

1. the day I receive the visa?
2. the day I enter in UAE?

Also, what margin I have to use the visa from the date I receive it? For example, if I receive the visa on June 1st, how late can I go to UAE?

Thanks,

Kashif

Well airline visa is usually a transit visa and the period is maximum 72 hours. Also they provide it when you purchase the ticket, so its not a seperate paper than your airline ticket!! Therefore no need to worry how long you have time to enter Dubai before it expires.
Good luck.

Regardless of what your travel agent tells you, the visa will be valid for as long as Emirates Airlines are willing to sponsor you for. You need to contact them for the details. They will send you written confirmation of the visa and you will then pick up the actual vias slip at the airport.
Transit visas are usually valid for 96 hours, tourist visas for up to 60 days. There are no 14 day transit visas.

Actully Kashif is correct. Emirates Airlines takes out the 15days visa from there hotels. You will get a proper copy of the visa which will be an online visa or u have to collect the origenal visa by showing the copy of that visa at the Dubai Airport. The time will be started from the day of arrival. You get 30 days to enter UAE from the date of Issue of ur visa. Then you can stay14 days.

Please note:- Online visa and origenal visa copies r same in looks. Only you will have to see the logo which will be on the visa page. If its a big logo then you will have to carry the copy and u have to stand at visa counter at dubai Airport to collect ur origenal visa. But if its a small logo then you can just carry the copy and go directly to the Immigration.

Thanks

Hamed

Yes, but not this is not a transit visa, i.e. you can't just turn up at the airport and expect to get one (like wit hthe 96 hour tranist visa in some cases). What this would be is a tourist visa, and those can be issued for any length of time, either by an airline or a hotel.
