| Davao City | Kadayawan 2008 Posted: Fri May 16, 2008 05:27 PM UTC
Hi. :) This might be a bit early but I was wondering if you guys can recommend hotels or inns that are near the main performance area of the street dance parade of the Kadayawan Festival? I read from DPP that Marco Polo is near/along the route but it's expensive.
Also, we only have one day to spare for touring the city, any suggestions? We arrive (Aug 23) and leave (Aug 25) Davao on the earliest Cebu Pacific flights. Thanks! :D |

Hi,
I can recommend the hotel/inn right opposet Gaisano mall, I have stayed there twice and it is clean, fairly cheap and some of their rooms can accomodate up to 10 guests. I'm sorry but I cannot remember the name of the hotel but will get back to you on that one.

there is no problem on seeing the performers of various ethnic groups or the dance parade during the kadayawan festival. because of the descipline of davao people, any tourist can get a good glimps of the parade. kadayawan is a month long festivity and its high lights will be on the third week. touring the city during kadayawan can be much of fun, for there are so many places to look into such as the durian park located at torres st., various ornamental plants and flowers (orchids), fruit display and many more, and now that the davao peoples park is open, i'm pretty sure that this will also be one of the venues of various cultural shows.
the problem is your hotel accomodations for all hotels during this period will be fully booked. hope this helps, happy travels cheers!

hi i stayed at las casitas just last week. it's at rizal street in front of philamlife. 890 per night for single inclusive with dinner. the staff are real helpful and friendly. room is just a bit small but it was clean. i think you could save more if marami kayo. location is accessible also to a lot of places. =)
