how to call gsm cell from north america
Posted: Fri May 16, 2008 04:14 PM UTC
I have an unlocked GSM cell phone with an international SIM. The cell number is something like +4423456...
People in CANADA need to call me using a regular land line phone. What number do they type in to call me?

You don't indicate where you actually are. + means international code, and 44 is UK. Normally you can get the + by holding down 0

SO my guess is they just key in your number. Alternatively, you (they) could try changing + to 00 because that's pretty standard international access code these days. But + would get the phone to do it.

Canadians dialing UK numbers dial 011 first, before the 44 and rest of number. I'm assuming it doesn't matter where he is if the number is a UK one.
