hi,
my wife and i will be in Bankok from sept 1-5....can you pls give me best itinerry..except temples and museums...more on tourist spot, bargain shopping, best food not too expensive. where is best to stay 3 star hotel that is centrally located....and last what is the weather in august...thanks so much in advance guys...hope to get many response cheers |

I like the Holiday Inn on Ploenchit. It is very central, next to the Sky Train, Big C Department Store (which has a great food court on the top floor) and Shopping very close.
I would suggest a tour to Ayutthaya and then take the river cruise back to Bangkok. There is also an Elephant Show not too far from Bangkok you can attend which is kind of interesting. Of course the Floating Market is a must see. You should see the Grand Palace as well. I am sure you will have a lot more suggestions, and check out the Thailand Pages here for more ideas.

Considering the coverage of the recent disaster in Myanmar (Burma) which neighours Thailand I am surprised you ask this question. The answer is "yes".
