hi there judi.. i'm a malaysian hence i gotta help :)

there's no train service from the airport from LCCT, you could catch a bus, 9MYR, to KL Sentral and then a taxi, bus or train to city center... i would somehow recommend u to take aiport taxi directly from LCCT which costs around RM100 to city center.

location map of LCCT: http://mapdoo.com/?id=aab126569

Concorde Hotel is a decent one and the main thing is it is well located at the heart of the city. Famous pubs/bars are all within walking distance.

KLCC, Mid Valley Megamall & The Curve are very famous and safe place to go for shopping.

KLCC: http://mapdoo.com/?id=aab126119
Mid Valley: http://mapdoo.com/?id=aab126506
The Curve: http://mapdoo.com/?id=aab124207

Monorail Info here: http://www.rapidkl.com.my/int_map.htm

or u can browse the local roadmapping website Mapdoo for restaurants, bars, shopping malls.. local info etc.

welcome and have a great one!!

Hi there,

From LCCT you can take a shuttle to main terminal KLIA..from there Ekspress train to KL Central (30-35 minutes),operating with regular and frequent intervals, this is very economical.
Taxi takes nearlly 75 minutes to city center and offcourse its expensive.
Concorde located in golden triangle of KL very convenient location surrounded by shopping centers, restaurants cafes and nightlife ..and walking distance to Twin towers..u step out from hotel you will find everything...in simple 24 hrs happening place.Best shopping Malls:
KLCC Suriya adjacent to twin towere : Branded expensive stuff
Bukit Bintang area (where Concorde located): Average
China town & Little India --Street shopping.
Other best located hotels : Berjaya times Square/The Regent.
but your choice of Concorde is best.
For MRT (mono rail) once you there at Bukit Bintang..very easy to find its routes.
Trust above is sufficent enough as basis info.
Cheers, have a nice trip.

Hi Judi

No need to take a shuttle to KLIA, take the bus at LCCT which the other Vter has suggested to you, only cost you MYR9 per person, you can pre-buy the ticket on Airasia plane. It will take about an hour to reach KL Sentral, then you could walk a little bit Monorial station, just ask the bus conductor where is the Monorial station. As for hotels I prefer Berjaya Times Square, it's located up the Time Square shopping centre and convenient to walk to Bukit Bintang or Sungai Wang shopping centre, but to go to KLCC you can take the monorial to Bukit Nanas then walk a little bit.

Hope this would help.

hi judi,
cheapest way to bukit bintang area (where most of the shopping malls are) is, as mentioned, by shuttle bus from the LCCT for RM$9 to Sentral station.
from there, go to the taxi office (or find the taxi officer who could be walking along the line of taxis...lol...that's where we found him) and pre-pay for your trip to your hotel(wherever that will be). this is a good idea as taxi drivers do tend to cheat tourists on the fare - ask for the meter to be on/check the meter is on when you get in.
hmmm... shopping malls...it depends on what you are after. a size 14 is considered large size there and styles for these group are not so good. shoes above size 8 could be hard to find. i tend to shop for accessories/handbags etc.
for local shopping with many small shops-sungei wang/bb plaza(they are right next to each other). berjaya times square is also nearby. pavilion is on of the newer shopping malls...in this area. this is high end shopping where there are more staff than shoppers in the shops...lol. the KLCC shopping mall under the petronas tower is more designer shopping.
for fakes/copies, you'll need to go to petaling street night market as these goods are not found in the malls(unlike in bangkok). bargain hard and watch out for pickpockets.
out of the city area.....mid-valley mega mall is worth checking out. more suburban type shopping. you can get there by bus. if interested, PM me and i'll give you more info.
for hotels, the good news is that you can stay at a good quality hotel for a reasonable price in KL. our friends just stayed at the prince hotel..they thought it was good value and central too.

Judi

If you can buy the Hotel + Flight from Airasia would be cheaper. Berjaya Times Square have a room called Brooklyn Suite which consist of two bedroom in an apartment. Try that and they are always fully book, maybe you could find out and book early.
