How do you measure how long the island is? Do you have to take a ruler or something to do it? Are there any tools?

?? What island? this question doesn't make much sense to me, even if I knew what island you are referring to.

It's George Dubya again guys. He's asking about Rottnest island again. The answer is Georgie, ...........put away your golf clubs(where the sun don't shine)....line your ears up with the tree on the left hand side of the island as you come off the jetty, and point towards the hill on the right hand side. Shine a torch through one ear, and count in seconds how long the light takes to go through the other ear and ricochet off the top of the hill and return to a mirror stuck to the bicycle rack near the shop. Then multiply by your birthday, add 26.6 and divide by triple the first number you think off.
Its that easy. And saves heaps in surveyors fees.

It's easy peasy lemon squeezy. Take a very long stick with you. Or you can get a map then spend half a day with a pair of dividers, several beers, a semi-accurate ruler, several more beers, divide yourself into oblivion and then forget what the question was. It's better forgotten, come to think of it.

If you really want to know, it's probably easier to do a google search and come up with this site http://www.discoverwest.com.au/western_australia/rottnest_island.html

Lay a piece of string from top to bottom of the island and then go to the shop and ask them,"How long is a piece of string"

You are going to kill me... I have a Piece of String joke.

A Piece of String is sitting at home, he suddenly decides he wants a drink so he goes down to his local pub. On the door is a notice *NO PIECES OF STRING ALLOWED*. He thinks *soddit. I want a drink* and walks in and up to the bar.

*A pint of your best bitter Landlord and a packet of crisps please* says the Piece of String.

*There is a sign on the door* says the Landlord *NO PIECES OF STRING ALLOWED. You're a Piece of String, aren't you?*

*No* says the Piece of String. *I'm afraid not* (I'm a frayed knot)
