Lima 50th birthday in Lima!
Posted: Wed October 8, 2003 05:05 PM UTC
We will be on a tour of Peru later this month & it will be my husbands 50th birthday while we are in Lima.
We would really like to go somewhere special to eat that evening to celebrate, we would love to hear of any recommendations of somewhere that is romantic , different or just a great place to go!
Thanks.

Hi!

A nice and romantic restaurant is "LA ROSA NAUTICA", it is in Lima, in the beach, if you go at night, it would be really pretty romantic, good luck!

This is an official web site about Peru, you will find more information:

Bye!

Further to what Sandro said, the food at the Rosa Nautica is the best. The restaurant has had its ups and downs through the years and now is definitively one of the best restaurants in the Lima.

The seting is spectacular on a pier in Miraflores. On the ocean itself.

Another suggestion is "La Huaca." A restaurant set on a pre-inca ruin in Miraflores which is wonderfully illuminated at night. Make sure you reserve a table on the terrace outside.

Call a taxi to go to either place. Where are you staying?

Enjoy.

Thanks for these suggestions, a great help!
We arrive in Lima (late) on 28th October & its Johns 50th Birthday on Thursday 30th so we will only be there the day before – is this enough time to reserve a table?
We live in England & it’s not very easy to book from here, so does anyone know if these places have web sites where you can reserve tables?
Thanks!
Linda.

I do not think you will need a reservation for the Rosa Nautica on a Thursday night but you can try 51-1-4450149.

The Huaca you should book ahead to guarantee a table on the terrace 51-1-445-4042.

If you want to continue partying after dinner on Thursday with live Peruvian music (marinera from the north) you can try "La Oficina" Enrique Barron 441 Barranco 477-9820.

Thanks Pedro, is La Oficina a night club & what is it like - will it be easy to get to by Taxi?
We think we will go to la Rosa Nautica first as it sounds lovely.
We are staying in San Isidro.

"La Oficina" is a small informal place (it is actually in a house) which has live music on Thursdays and Saturdays only. You can have the taxi from the Rosa Nautica take you there if you still have energy.

There are plenty of taxis on the streets of Lima. I always prefer to call one ahead (that way at least the taxi company knows who picked you up, much safer). By the way, taxis do not use meters so you need to negotiate the price before you get in.

You'll have a great time at the Rosa Nautica.
