There is always a very big demand for renting of flats in Gibraltar and consequently rents are high. For example a three bedroom flat averages between £850 to £1,500 per month and the minimum tenancy is normally six months; when accommodation does become available it is usually snapped up very quickly.
Even the most basic hotels offer rooms of very poor standard and with no amenities from about £25 per person per night. You would ideally need to know someone in Gibraltar who could scout for you or read the local papers, unfortunately these papers do not show their adverts online so you cannot do it from UK. As you have not stated your intentions for your one month stay, I'm not sure if it is appropriate to suggest staying over the border in La Linea, which would be a considerably cheaper option. I do have a list of the lower end hostels and other places in Gibraltar if you would care to send me your e-mail. I hope this helps although it is not good news.

Hi,
Sorry for the delay but I have just about exhausted myself trying to find cheap accommodation in Gibraltar. There was talk of expanding the Catalan Bay area (on the east side) into the sea but this would, I think, be for luxury apartments where people are to relocate permanently for retirement rather than vacations. Because of the perpetual search for housing, many people resorted to seeking accomomdation across the border in La Linea but even now available properties are snapped up quickly. Other areas to consider around Gibraltar are Alcaidesa, Duquesa, Torreguadiaro and Sotogrande. Unfortunately this means additional travelling but renatls are cheaper, sorry but I don't know of any specific appartments by name. If you can get hold of free Gibraltar papers such as the Friday Ad or the Sur (in English) you should see adverts for rental properties in Gib. Even the most basic hotels offer rooms of very poor standard and with no amenities from about £25 per person per night. The following is a short list of agents you may wish to contact although I do have a full list for you to consider, if you want this just give me your e-mail: A Real Estate (Rentals) 45 Governor’s Street Tel: 49222 • Fax: 49221 • Mobile: 5800 9913 Bray Properties (Lettings) 3 Market Lane Tel: 47777 www.brayproperties.com Makey Real Estate (Estate Agents) 6/1 George’s Lane, Gibraltar Tel: 59090 • Mobile: 58009635 • +34 650 249 399 • Fax: 50080 E-mai l: makeyrealest@gibtelecom.net Bye for now John
