hello,

i'm trying to check some airline sites for domestic flights but was unable to get through english version. like with spring airlines i get error message once i click english. could someone please give me an idea how much is the fare for:
beijing-guangzhou, beijing-macau, beijing-xiamen, beijing-hongkong OR beijing-macau.

our local airline is offering zero fare for all destination and i hope to get a flight back from beijing via any of these chinese cities.

many thanks,

Spring Airlines doesn't fly from Beijing anyway, so don't bother checking that.
Flying to Hong Kong or Macau (why have you listed Beijing -- Macau twice?) will be considered international and much more expensive. Flying to Guangzhou and then taking the bus/train to Hong Kong would be more economical, if you really need to get to Hong Kong -- but you might as well fly home from Guangzhou, in that case.

oh thanks ellyse. i didn't know that spring don't have beijing. macau 2x is just typo error :0). i'm looking into guangzhou, xiamen, hk and macau flight as transit point bec cebu pacific has those on offer for zero fare. most flights from beijing to manila are expensive.

do you know any non-frill airlines plying that route?

Do you have the time to take the train? Beijing -- Hong Kong is about 24 hours (every other day, check http://www.it3.mtr.com.hk/B2C/UserPage/sysTimeTable_Eng.asp for schedules, 574-601 RMB), fastest for Beijing -- Guangzhou is about 20 hours (428-458 RMB) and Beijing -- Xiamen 31.5 hours (same price as for Guangzhou). Prices quoted are for hard sleeper, one-way, one person.

Rather than go international, it would be cheaper to fly Beijing-Zhuhai for Macau, or Beijing-Shenzhen for Hong Kong. Then just walk through border at either. Cebu Pacific now fly from Shanghai too.

Look here english.ctrip.com
They quote Beijing-Zhuhai as low as 970,
Beijing-Zhenzhen at 1400
NB discounts apply on certain times of day, day of week, etc.

But you have better reserve more time. The schedule is always behind ! It's kind of problem of Air China ! sorry about that !
but I hope you are lucky no need wait for a long time. I've got the experience to wait more than 45 mins from Beijing back to HK!
Have a nice trip !

If you visit HK, you are welcome to have tea time with me !

The Airlines section of www.tripade.com has all the airlines that fly in China.
Give it a try.

ellyse, though train fare is half of plane fare, we don't have the time...my sis needs to be back home by oct 15. thanks for taking time to check on the train routes and fares.

john, we don't have time for border crossing. thanks for the link and fare quotes, i think i'll take the 920yuan (fare+surcharge) of air china for beijing-shanghai. several flights a day and the best thing is they all land in pudong so less hassle on transfers. will wait till the last minute to book for the flight back ;0)

cynthia, thanks for pointing out the need to be at the airport early. since our time is short, i almost forgot to allot enough time in between flights. also, thanks for the invitation. if ever i'll visit hk, i'll send you a message.

spadamagica, the link is great...salamat! i saved that in my favorites.

sorry for the confusion ellyse. the beijing-shanghai crop up when i was unable to find cheap fares from beijing to guangzhou or xiamen. hk and macu fares are in the international category thus also very expensive. found the fare for shanghai the cheapest at 770yuan. i haven't booked yet...too early for our oct trip.

In that case, just take the overnight train for Beijing -- Shanghai. Only 478/499 RMB for soft sleeper and it only takes 11.5 hours.
