Hi all, thank you so much for all the answered questions and advices. It really helped me alot and i had the best time of my life in Phuket although the weather is abit sucky. I will update my pages for all to view my adventures. and yes, i did rent a bike and i do not regret the choices made. Even with bad weather, they are many things to do in Phuket.

Thank you everyone. And i will come back to Phuket. Kap Kun Kap. :)

Hello Vanitykills,We are just so happy to help you with your questions...I am leaving for Phuket next week, this being my 5th time to Phuket...Could I ask you where you rented your scooter from, and was the person you rented it off a nice, friendly person...??...Did you show/give him a copy of your passport and licence...??..And,did he charge you for any damage that you may or may not have done to the bike...??...And did he charge extra for petrol used or did you return bike to him with a full tank...??...And last but not least, the police patrolling the bangla road/beach road corner are notorious for pulling over tourists on scooters and bikes, and charging them for silly reasons...Did they pull you over..??...I know about insurance or lack of,helmet rules and 150 BHT to rent...So glad you enjoyed Phuket...Thats why I keep going back too...!!

Hi Tango, sorry this is kinda a late reply....maybe u are on ur way thr or have already reached Phuket. but i will answer ur qn nontheless.

Could I ask you where you rented your scooter from? --> I rented it from a shop at Deevana Condotel which is beside the place i am staying in at Deevana Patong Resort.

was the person you rented it off a nice, friendly person...??--> She's extremely nice and speaks basic english. no prob communicating.

Did you show/give him a copy of your passport and licence...?? I gave them my passport and they kept it. My friend rented another bike further down the road, the shopkeeper just photocopied the passport and returned to him.

And,did he charge you for any damage that you may or may not have done to the bike...?? No extra charges . easy return. we pass her the key, she pass us the passports. she didnt even checked the bike.

And did he charge extra for petrol used or did you return bike to him with a full tank...?? Yerp, we returned the bike with the amt of petrol that was left from when we first collected the bike.

And last but not least, the police patrolling the bangla road/beach road corner are notorious for pulling over tourists on scooters and bikes, and charging them for silly reasons...Did they pull you over..?? Im not too sure of that, but i do not encounter such incidents. I avoided bangla road coz its overrated and overcrowded and overpriced. If u have the time, head down to Phuket Night Market.

I know about insurance or lack of,helmet rules and 150 BHT to rent --> Mine was 200BHT/day nothing else. yerp. no insurance coverage though. although some along Patong beach claimed to have insurance coverage.

So glad you enjoyed Phuket...Thats why I keep going back too...!! --> I may be coming back to Phuket...when the weathers perfect..hehe...

Cheers now. Enjoy your trip
