| Chiang Mai | Treks in/around Chiang Mai Posted: Wed May 14, 2008 02:58 PM UTC
I'm really planning ahead here so please bear with me. I'm only going to be in Chiang mai Feb next year, which is supposed to be the peak season there. Am wondering if I should book any tours/ treks prior to going or are there THAT many operators that i can be safe getting a slot by just turning up then and signing up?
In any case, I've read some comments about how Chiang mai is rather commercialised and the surrounding areas are better like Pai and some other places for which i can't remember the names. Can anyone please suggest a few places/ trek routes? I'll be there for a week and I intend to trek a max of maybe 3-4days. Thanks in advance. |

You can go there & book your treking trips! Pai and Mae Hong Song trip will also be good. Apart from the local one day trekking trips. There are n. no. of operators. During Feb, Chiang Mai host Flower festival (check out the dates) and they have a flower parade on one of those days, you do not want to miss that - plan accordingly :)
