Hi there...this is my first time posting in VT.
I'm wondering whether it is wise to go HK during Chinese New year? I know the celebration will be great but in terms of shopping and visiting...are most shops and tourist destinations close for a long period during Chinese New Year? Thank You in advance. :) |

The tourist attractions will be opened, but many shops, especially the smaller ones, will be closed.

I have been there during Chinese New Year and I found most place to be open though they open a little later than usual during the day. Though a couple of the museums were closed but other than that you'll find most places open and accessible.
