hi all, new here.

I was thinking about Pulau Payar Marine Park (1 day) and Cable car etc (1/2 day),Mangrove trip (1 day)? Is it possible? Also need to squeeze some time for my kid to leisure play on the beach and shopping ......Or any other suggestions?


Anyone have suggestions for good shopping or pasar malams ?

For Pulau Payar..I would like to let my kid (if possible no swimming) walk and stand on the water and see the fish and possibly see shark feeding. Possible?

Payar Marine park will definitely require whole day spend over there.
And yes you can let your kid watch the baby shark feeding. You have to check with lifeguard over there for Shark feeding schedule.

For cable car and mangrove trip. that can be done in same day. Mangrove trip will take about 3-4 hrs (from 9am). I don't think you want to spend most of your half day at cable car.

Beside that, you can bring your kid to underwater world at Pantai Chenang which famous with Penguin.

Drop by at Langkawi Eagle square. Well known landmark for Langkawi. And next to it there is one garden where you can find all about Langkawi. People call it Mini Langkawi. Over here you'll learn how places in Langkawi got the name.

For pasar malam, every night you can find pasar malam in Langkawi. But I only can remember these two locations. Saturday night pasar malam is at Kuah Town while Sunday Night pasar at Padang Matsirat.

For the pasar malams, any idea what are they selling? Food? Bags? DVDs? like they do in Penang?
From your experience, typically the cable car visit will take how long? 2 hours?
What are the better shopping areas ?

Hi CM4, Basically it almost the same like what they had in Penang.
I think the cable car visit will take about 2 to 3 hours. By the way, at the ground station cable car there is a shop lot where you can do shopping. Beside that area, you might want to consider kuah town for shopping activity. Don't forget to drop by at Wonderland Restaurant at Kuah town for cheap seafood. :)

Its possible to cover all that you had mention in you 3 days trip plus a night to a pasar malam in Langkawi.
As for the Pulau Payar trip you and your kid could just stand and walk in the water and see both fish and sharks feeding without having to swim.
Where will you be staying in Langkawi and when?.
