What is the best way to get from Dubrovnik airport to a hotel in the city? Is it better to take a bus or a taxi, and what is the approximate cost of each? Can I change euros to the local currency at the airport? Any other tips/advice would be appreciated.

But the airport bus is convenient and much cheaper about 7-10 euro equivalent. It will drop you off in the centre right near the main Gate entrance into the Old Town. There you will find ATM's for currency conversion, but we always exchanged in the Kompas Hotel which was near our apartment and gave a very good rate.
Do you know the name of your hotel? Depending where it is located you may wish to take a taxi to the hotel after leaving the bus

I just checked the airport website (above) The bus is 5 euros. You need to look at the top of the page for the "running" information in small print.

Many thanks for your help. My hotel in Dubrovnik is the President Hotel, Iva Dulcica. I have no idea where it is, but it is the starting point for an organised tour so I presume it is reasonably central.

I know the location of the President - it is actually a fair way from the old town on the Lapad peninsular - a good 25 minute walk. But the good news is that there are regular, cheap buses to the old town. We stayed not far away from the hotel in a self catering apartment. You can buy bus tickets at most hotel reception desks - cheaper than on the bus - so we popped in to the slightly closer Kompas Hotel to buy ours.
But I suggest that if you take the bus from the airport you pick up a taxi when you are dropped off outside the Gate of the old town to take you up to the hotel. There are lovely walks all around that part of the coast. You are welcome to look at my Dubrovnik pages. Have a great trip.

On this map the President is the Hotel marked on the extreme left of the promontory. The bus from town sometimes stopped there - we usually got off lower down near the Kompad but did a round trip one very hot day to get our bearings the easy way.
