hi, i recently moved to the basque country from arizona. my mother is a sepharadic jew and she believes her ancestors come from toledo, spain. now that i live in this country i would like to find more about it and perhaps visit toledo and maybe get in touch with historic society or similar organizations. VT is my first step at this research. please advice or suggest if u have any info about this particular part of toledo's history and how do i find more contacts. thanks a lot in advance!

Well, here are some pointers.
There is the Museum of Sephardic Jewish history, attached to the Tránsito Synagogue, in the Calle de los Reyes Católicos. You could contact the Jewish society in Toledo on http://www.jewishtoledo.org I've also found an essay on the subject: http://www.americansephardifederation.org/PDF/arti Some books are mentioned at the end of this essay, for further studies. Just look them up on the internet or try a library. Good luck finding your ancestors.

Dear Edith; if you need an accomodation in Toledo I'd recommend Hotel Maravilla. It's in the old core. I hope that hotel still exists.
