I"m going to traveling through Thailand and Phuket and I was wondering, is it better to stay on the north side or south side of Phuket? I know the airport is located on the North side, but airport closeness really has no bearing on my plans.

The north is actually very quiet. The Marriott Resort is the best hotel in the area. The south has a few more hotels. The main areas for tourists are on the West side of the island such as Surin, Kamala, Patong, Karon etc. What do you want from your stay?

Such a broad question...??...You must enlighten us more on what your plans be...??...Frinstance,do you want a quiet vacation...??..Do you want a party all night vacation..??...Do you want to stay in expensive hotel..??...North phuket is quiet,south Phuket is also quiet...Patong in between is not so quiet...Some people would say south is best...others would say north is better...I prefer in between...Patong...!!...have fun...!!

It all depends on what you want to do.
If you want nightlife, go south. If you want quiet beaches, go north. If you want scuba, go south; if you want golf, go north. Tangomango's right. You need to tell us what kind of experience you are hoping to have on the island before we can provide guidance.
