hi,
i'm going to mexico city in july,do you know any cheap but clean hostel, or hotel, near the centre, like zocalo or pink zone? i'd like to book a room before leaving, so do u know a good internet site where booking?

If you'll check out the Mexico City hotel tips, there's both a hostel and hotel near the zocalo. My family of 3 stayed at the Hotel Catedral just 2 weeks ago and our room cost US$ 85/night inclusive of breakfast. The private bathroom was a bit crampy and there was no air conditioning, but the ceiling fan was sufficient to keep us cool. Check the hotel website below:

thank u, but it's too expensive for me. i can spend 20/25 $ USD at night. do u know hotel Isabel,or mexico city hostel?

hotel catedral also operates a hostel on the other side (the back side of the hotel). the hostel is directly facing the zocalo square.

i only have passsed by it but you could go always there and see, should be cheaper than the hotel i reckon!

on www.hostelworld.com you can reserve and check out options. I LOVE hostal de montejo, its near polanco easy to access and in your budget range, the guys that run it know everything about DF and speak fluent English. Problem with staying near the Zocalo area is it dies at night whereas other end of Paseo de la Reforma is very fun at night...

go to hostel moneda. i do NOT recommend hostel cathedral. unless you like a party place where the music is bumping at 3 in the morning, and unless you want to pay for using the internet, and eat crappy breakfast. moneda has a much better breakfast, cheaper, not too noisy, great service and care from the workers, good tours.
