| Tokyo | Touring the Imperial Palace Posted: Tue May 13, 2008 07:05 AM UTC
Hi I am a little confused on how I can tour the Imperial Palace in Tokyo. I read that we need to register for a "pass" to gain entry. I did and I understood that the tour will be conducted in Japanese. I don't understand Japanese but I registered because I wanted to visit. I understand that the inner palace is out of bounds.
Do we really have to walk with the group? The palace grounds do not accept walk-ins? If I have a pass but do not wish to join the ground, can I just use that as an "entrance ticket" to roam around the permissible area? Thanks. |

I don't think you can walk outside the tour. They say the audio guide system in English is available.
