| Croatia | Trying to Travel to Goljak in Croatia Posted: Tue May 13, 2008 05:34 AM UTC
Hi,
I'm travelling to Croatia this summer, and one of the places I wanted to go was a small village called Goljak. My mom's family is originally from there so I wanted to visit it and take a bunch of pictures for them as they haven't been back in a very long time. So I guess my first question would be whether anybody has ever heard of it. If so, how would I get there and what is the easiest way to do so? The only directions I have so far is that it's near Dragovajncak (or something like that) and that I could probably get there via Petrovina. My grandma also said something about Jastrebarsko.. not sure if that's the region or if it is a city near there. Thanks for any help that anybody can give me! |

There are 3 Goljak villages in Croatia, one near Jastrebarsko, one near Karlovac, one near Klanjec.
All three are within one hour drive from Zagreb so think you should come to Zagreb, rent a car here and drive to the right one. What’s your mother’s last name? If you don’t want to display it here, email it to me and we’ll find the right Goljak for further instructions. I believe the one near Jastrebarsko is the one, since there is a place called Dragovanjscak there too. It’s a tiny place but have rather good webpage (in Croatian) http://www.goljak.com/cms/
