You mentioned that you did the walking tour in one and a half hours, did you have a guide, how did you organize this. I feel this amount of time will be enough for my husband and I in the heat although we would like to see the main attractions. How much did the taxi cost to take you there and wait and bring you back ?.

I don't know exactly to whomo your query is directed to, but we did the same thing last year.

If you are doing the Ephesus Tour on your own, you could do it on your own, excluding of course the House of Virgin Mary, which is perched on top of the mountain and very far from the main Ephesus tour trail. Ephesus tour itself can be done by foot, and yes in about 2 hours.

If you are staying or starting from the nearby Selcuk town, then oyu can walk up to the entrance of Ephesus, about 2 kilometers from Selcuk centre or market or bus station.

But if your goal is to cover the whole package (Ephesus, House of Virgin Mary, Cave of Seven Sleeper, St. John Basilica), then take a taxi, won't cost that much - haggle! Cost us YTL40 for the 3 of us - starting with the Cave of 7 Sleeper, House of Virgin Mary, then to Ephesus, then to St. John Basilica. Then to your hotel or bus station.

The taxi driver will wait for you so no need to hurry up.

hello there ,
well if you like to keep your tour short and only see the main attractions , you need to skip Virgin Mary House and St.John Basilica.These are not located in Ephesus ancient site.Main attractions are (in order ) Hadrian Temple , Terrace Houses, Celsus Library and the Great theatre.If you follow the route you will finish it of approx. in 2 hrs !
