Hey All,

me and a mate are about to fly over to the UK to work/live there for a couple of months. I am currently looking for a campervan to buy to travel around the rest of europe with. if anyone knows anywhere to buy a campervan where i wont get ripped off, or who has just returned from there travels in a van and would like 2 sell it please let me know.

Hi, I don't know any one selling a camper but you could look on eBay or Auto Trader.

And make sure you have the appropriate qualifications to drive a camper van on your driving licence.

for work, try www.gumtree.com, lots of short-term vacancies and stuff can be found there.

An international drivers licence will be ok to drive a campervan, it's the insurance you may not be able to get.

Check up on a few companies and see if you are able to get insurance. Even if you do, they will only insure for a year, not less I doubt and it'll cost you too. Not cheap, especially if you want it to cover Europe, not just the UK.

You will need to provide financial evidence for your stay when you pass through customs on arrival as well.

When you take the 'van across to mainland Europe check up on the regulations that you need to abide by - first aid kit, warning triangle, spare bulbs etc. And don't forget about travel insurance, you wont be covered otherwise if, God forbid, you are injured or fall ill.

hi, there are a number of sites in London where aussies and others sell their vans.
These have probably changed since I left there in 1996 but if you check in the pubs around earls court someone will point you in the right direction.
