| New York City | easist way into the city? Posted: Mon May 12, 2008 07:20 PM UTC
My husband and I love coming to NYC. Until now, we've always taken bus trips but we're considering driving ourselves so we don't have a time limit. Being from suburbia, we're a little nervous about driving right into the city...LOL So we're looking into parking in Jersey and taking a train or something. I've been advised to park at Weehawken/Port Imperial and take the ferry. It seems like a good idea, but I'm open to suggestions. We're coming from PA via I-78. Advice and/or tips? TIA,

The ferry is an easy way to the city, also once you get off ferry in Manhattan,NY Waterways has it own buses that will take you into the city and return you back to ferry.Waterway buses are free to ride just have your return ferry ticket handy to show driver if asked to see it

coming in on I78, you will pass right by Newark Airport. You can use the long term parking lot for secure cheap parking and take the train into the city.

OR you could just drive right into the Manhattan. Find a paid parking (they are almost on every corner so you don't have to cross too many streets) and not worry about time limit (ferry or train).
