I have little restaurant tip here:
http://members.virtualtourist.com/m/df069/670c3/2/

There is really not much to do in Bali. The good news is, that Bali is right off highway and you can cath a bus to Rethymno or a .....nicer beach.

My hubby loved beaches in Bali, however I did not liked the sand (it was dusty and with so many children on the beach after a while your mouth was full of it)
Water is awesome, so you can escape the dust :-)

Bali is family oriented place. All hotels are baby-friendly. After sunset all families are strolling down the street with their diapered babies :-)

There is few more expensive restaurants and few more afordable. WE liked the one we ate in, but....again sooo many chiiiilddreeen!
hehehe
There is a car rental (if you need to escape) and tourist office (if you need to escape for a trip or two).
We were staying there only one evening, night and morning.
IT is very pretty. You will bring home great photos of sunrise and sunset.

When we go to Crete we always rent a car and if we are bored in one place we go to the other. There is so much to see on Crete and different scenery on every corner.
See my Crete, Rethymno and Chania pages. There will be some more pictures from Bali.
