| Kuala Lumpur | KL - Sing bus Posted: Mon May 12, 2008 10:56 AM UTC
1. I maybe staying with a relative in Mont Kiara in KL. I believe only Odyssey has a bus from there to Sing. Any reviews on their service would be welcome.
2. Are there any buses with toilets on board? My kid is 8 yrs. old and I myself would feel comfortable with this facility. Which other buses would recommend. 3. What happens if there is a big queue at the border and I miss the bus. Does our bus wait or do we take the next bus. In that case, do we have to wait for a bus from the same company and what if that bus is full? Also, I am using the Visa on arrival on arriving at KL. I have a multiple entry visa for Sing. Can I go to Sing. and come back in 3 days and use the Visa on arrival in Malaysia again? 4. Finally, any budget airlines that I can take. I realise the time taken is the same, but I would be a lot more comfortable. |

Hi,
1) Bus from KL to Singapore: I'm not sure about Odyssey. Haven't tried that yet. I mostly use Aeroline (www.aeroline.com.my). Check the website. It provides comfortable journey. 2) Aeroline have toilets on board. Plus there is normally a ~15-minute break halfway the journey. 3) Normally the bus waits for you. Unless you really take a long time (because of immigration issues). If you're left behind, I'm not sure what happens because the interval of the trips are not that frequent for you to wait for the next bus from the same company. I'm not sure about Visa issues as I have an Employment Pass in KL. 4) You can check AirAsia for budget airline (www.airasia.com)

(1) Not sure about Odyssey but Aeroline does a good job and is comfortable, its a double decker and have alrge seats. Journey takes about 5 hours depending on traffic. There will be a bit of inconvenience at the customs coz you need to get your stuff out twice (malaysia customs and Singapore) Its really comfortable (by Aeroline or Odyssey). There are others but I can only comment on aeroline as I have used it constantly.
(2) Yes , there are toilets on board,. But the buses do make scheduled stops along the way to/from Singapore (3)There is a time table for the buses. Tickets are purchased online(by card) and can be made in cash http://www.aeroline.com.my/ http://odysseynow.com.sg/Index.aspx http://www.luxury.com.sg/onlinebooking.aspx (4) Visa - shouldn't be a problem. Its multiple entry. (5) www.airasia.com.my - flight is 50 mins but checkin time 1 hour before. Plus the cab fare from KL to the airport is arounf 70+. Might as well take the bus. Have fun PH

If you are looking for a journey with facilities, then I would like to suggest a train. You can buy the ticket through internet. The journey is longer but it has toilets and canteen. You may enjoy the view of village and river. If you want to have more privacy and comfort then opt for 1st class.
