i will be hcmc or hanoi on this coming aug
depending on where the nice beach and water is

love nice beaches and clear water (like phi phi or redang)
which one is the best of these 3?

pls advise and will be greatly appreciated

We didn't think that Vung Tau beach was anything special. More a weekend getaway from Saigon for the locals. We did a day trip by hydrofoil and had a nice day wandering around. I would not swim in Halong Bay. Very dirty although again, a great place to do a day trip from Hanoi or even better, stay overnight on a boat. The scenery is amazing. There is plenty to do in Nha Trang. The beaches are nice and there are boat trips with snorkelling, seafood lunch etc. That would be my pick. Havn't been further south to Phu Quoc Island etc. but other VT'ers might give you their thoughts on the beaches.

No offence to Vung Tau but it is not a great beach resort. Clear that time of year is a bit tricky as its still rainy season but best beach resorts in the south are Mui Ne or Phu Quoc island

Halong Bay for me... It is simply stunning. The water is a stunning aqua, with small boats seemingly floating on glass! We went on the Bhaya and seeing Halong Bay in the lap of luxury is a lifetime experience.

Nha Trang is my pick. Aug is raining season. The beaches are not so good this time of year.
