Help!

I know it will be hot and humid and the start of the rainy season.... but..

I just would like to know if there will be nice and sunny weather (for getting a tan) and clear blue skies (for photographing Mayan ruins, landscapes, etc) in the Yucatan peninsula mid June?

((Hopefully for at least a few hours in the day... ))

Or will there be constant rain and overcast ugly white cloudy skies there around this time of year??

I know we can't predict the weather!! But has anyone been to or travelled around Cancun/Tulum in mid June?

What was the weather like at that time??

I have 14-23rd June off work and I am torn between the Mexican Yucatan peninsula or Manuel Antonio National Park in Costa Rica..

They both sound like amazing places that I have never been and would like to see.

Yucatan for the Mayan ruins and Costa Rica for the wildlife.. But most importantly I want to relax and tan on a beautiful beach!!

I understand June can be a risky month weatherwise for both places and I don't want to take too much of a gamble..

I want the most hours of sunshine and blue skies and the least amount of rain and cloudy hazy white overcast skies..

Am I better off in Costa Rica (Manuel Antonio) or the Yucatan peninsula? or even elsewhere in Mexico??

Unless you encounter an unusual storm, rather than experiencing long periods of cloudy or hazy days you can expect mostly blue skies with relatively brief several hour episodes of heavy rain in both places. I recall more clouds in Costa Rica, but much of my time was in San Jose and up in the mountains rather than at the beach. The beach time was always sunny.

The rain is a mixed blessing: It initially cools things down, but is generally followed by a return to the heat, now with an increased humidity. Good luck.
