| Costa Rica | where to go...? Posted: Sun May 11, 2008 09:25 PM UTC
I am going to San Jose on business and would like to leave like 5 or 6 days earlier so i can go hang out at a beach for a few days. Where would you suggest is a good, nice beachy type of town i could go to? Looking for something with good night life and a nice beach, thats about it....

Head to Manuel Antonio. There is a public beach there (we spent few great hours there) where you can hang out. Also, there are several beaches inside the park. You can take an organized tour to see wildlife, you can do some hiking, horseback riding, etc. There is lots of stuff to do in Manuel Antonio! It is also close to San Jose (about 3.5 hours if you drive on your own), which is an advantage since you do not want to spend a lot of time on the roads.
A good place to stay there is Villas Nicolas: http://www.villasnicolas.com/ We did not spend the night there, but we passed by them and it looked like a really nice place to stay at, with good prices.
