| The Royal Palace in Thessaloniki Greece Posted: Sun May 11, 2008 06:05 PM UTC
Does anyone out there know if the Royal Palace (The King's and Queen's summer home) in Thessaloniki Greece still exists? What condition is it in? I remember when I was groing up in Thessaloniki that there was a palace in Aretsou, outside the city and by the water. If anyone has any information about it, I would appreciate it.
Thanks Mary |

Hi,
The Palataki as we locals call it, still exists alright. It is used by the goverment for formal receptions or to put up guests (mostly foreign politicians). It is in Aretsou by the sea side, as you remember, only it is not outside the city any more. As the city grew, it has sourrounded it. hope it helped Magda |

Efxaristo Magdaki,
Next time I am in Thessaloniki I will have to take a ride in Aretsou and take a look at the palataki. I knew it should still be there. I come every year, but now that I am writing a book I needed to know if it still exists. Thanks again, Best Regards, Mary |
