Hi, everyone,

For our first trip on the first day of our vacation in Hongkong, we will be going to Ocean Park at 9 a.m. We only have limited HK$ with us and most of the money we have are US$. Since the bank is still closed during this time, can the stores in Ocean Park accept US$?

The last time we went, there was a store that accepted US$ but I don't know if ALL the stores accepted US$.

I hope somebody can help. Thanks in advance!

Ocean Park doesn't open until 10 am. You can also book online

I don't know where you're coming from, but there seem to be money changers all over HK, open all the time. You could probably change on arrival the night before.

In general, you'll get a very bad exchange rate anywhere if you use another currency. I'm sure there will be an ATM near your hotel. Ask at the hotel reception.

You would probably be getting on the bus at Admiralty on your way to Ocean Park. If so, Francki at the 2/F Worldwide House, Des Voeux Road Central give good rates.

there's a money exchange outlet at the airport but not sure of its business hours and didn't get its name. recently i arrived at 10am and it was open

oh yes, you didnt mention where you'll be coming from. john's right, money exchange stores is everywhere in HK, and more (like every street corner) in the shopping districts of Kowloon and HK island. exchanging USDs in banks will charge some HK$10-50 as service fee if you do not have an account with them. the $ exchange stores are reliable and fast and have consistent rates with the other stores, don't worry
