Just booked a to fly to Kula lumpar in November. my trip is for 9 days, and i plan to pretty much fly straight down to borneo. However, as a backpacker, in need of escaping the madding crowd that is tourism, any reccommendations? thoughts? any advice on where to go???

You didn't specify which part of Borneo that you're flying in to. If you're flying into Kota Kinabalu, then you can travel to the mountain. I've just spent 3D2N up there. There was nothing else but jez u and nature.

If you're flying into the state of Sarawak, there are a few options that you can do. Travel upriver and into the inland. If you're short of time, fly to Miri. It's the gateway to several national parks.

I think Kuching is less touristy compared to Kota Kinabalu.

I must admit, my flight is into Kota, but im hoping not to hang around there. Just seen that Air Asia is dirt cheep at the moment, but any reccomendations as to where to head??
