hello fellows!!

i´m planning to get to the caribbean, but since i´m not going on cruise ships or packages, i´m having a hard time choosing where to get to!
what i´m looking for are pristine, unspoiled beaches....luxury trips and jungle safaris are not my thing really...
do you have any suggestion? is there an island that called your attention for the beaty of its beaches and sand banks?
i would be happy with any suggestion you gave me!

I am sure there are many but my choices would be St. John U.S.V.I or Tortola B.V.I.

The cruise ships do not go to St. John and very few of them go to Tortola.

Bearing in mind that I've not been to a lot of Caribbean islands, I thought the beaches in Aruba were the nicest I'd ever seen, white, free of shells and in early December before tourism hit high gear not crowded with people either.

Before the Dominican Republic became a tourist hotspot I travelled there, so already some time ago, and found there were the most beautiful beaches I have ever seen, super white sands, and palm trees bent over the beaches, the waters crystal clear...

Once we organised a boat shuttle from Samaná to a small island, I think the name was Cayo Levantado. That was it. Except some naked Germans walking along the beach the picture was perfect ;-)

However, all this could have changed in the meantime as the DomRep has become such a popular and inexpensive tourist destination.

St.Kitts, Nevis- my absolute favorites- I'm not sure there are any truly untouristed or unspoiled areas anymore that aren't privately owned, but these two can give you some tucked away privacy - I also like St. Lucia- plan to get back there- tried Honduras for the first time this year- diving is great, it's relatively untrammeled in places.
