In the year 2004 me and my son walked along the "meridien de Paris" and we have made photo's of all the plaquettes ARAGO we could trace in the streets and in the Louvre. Only the plaquettes in the garden and building of the Observatoire we could not see, because you had to make a reservation for a guided visit.

Last year I've got troubles whit walking and in the summer I got the diagnosis; I have A.L.S. (in French S.L.A. or the "maladie de Charcot"). Next week I will try to make (probably for the last time) another walking trip in Paris and make - if possible - photos of the plaquettes in the Observatoire. I have tried to make a reservation by email to make a guided visit, but I got no answer. We, my son and I will visit Paris from wednesday 21 untill monday 26 May. I hope some of the VT-members living in Paris can tell me when I can visit (day and hour) the Observatoire.

It would seem that there are tours every Tuesday and Thursday at 14h00. However, the site is not that clear as to prices, is it guided etc. so probably better to try and confirm by e-mail at visit.paris@obspm.fr or by phone at 01 40 51 23 97.
If you have trouble with French let me know by e-mail and I will 'phone for you. I can't before Tuesday as it is a "bank holiday here tomorrow".
