Région de Bruxelles-Capitale Brussels hotel recommendation for one night
Posted: Sun May 11, 2008 03:52 AM UTC
We will be arriving in Brussels from Bruges by train in August. We will stay in Brussels for one night and fly out of BRU to the US the next morning. Can someone tell me the most likely train station where we would disembark and recommend some reasonably priced hotels nearby that we can get to easily (there are 6 of us; a family of 4 and a couple)? I would like to see as much of Brussels as is possible in one day so hotels in a central location that can be easily reached from the train station might work better. Many thanks for your help.

From Bruges you will arrive at Brussels Centraal (I know, because I've just booked a holiday there via Eurostar!). That's where the train to the airport can go from too, so it's easy.

for airport transport info.

for train times and fares.

Look at www.venere.com for Bruges hotels. It's a reliable site, with honest guest reviews. www.booking.com is also good. I've just booked a small hotel within walking distance of the station via Venere because I too prefer to be central.

Book your accommodation quickly though: there are a lot of you, and August is high season. Central hotels will fill up speedily, especially as Bruges is so accessible via Eurostar. It's an increasingly popular 'long-weekend' destination from the UK.
