| Budget rental car's variable size gas tank Posted: Sat May 10, 2008 11:23 PM UTC
I picked up a car at Budget in Phoenix. I bought the full gas tank option when I picked up the car. They charged me for 18.5 gallons. But I checked the specs on the car and the tank only holds 18.0 gallons.
Anybody have this happen to them also, at Budget or other rental companies? |

I guess they are covering the .5 gallons boxmaxima uses before he drops it off.

Any time I rented a car, the tank was full at the pickup point and the rental agent told me to refill the tank prior to return. I would pay only for fuel actually used while the car is in my possession.

I always take care of filling it myself to avoid this. But my philosophy on car rentals is "expect to get sc#&*ed"
