Kotor Accommodation in Kotor
Posted: Sat May 10, 2008 06:40 PM UTC
Hi, my partner and i have 1 night in Kotor at the end of this month. We would normally book hostels although there is limited hostels and we thought we would try and stay somewhere nice (location). Would you recommend any hostels or hotels in the area that are cheap (30€ or less each per night) and accessible from the transport?

I need to know some good websites so i can book. hostelworld.com and hostelbookers.com do not have much

As far as I know there are no hostels in Kotor, except maybe a student place that would only be open for tourists in summer (i.e. not when you are there). The only hostel I have heard of in the whole of Montenegro is the Hippo Hostel in Budva. That's why you won't find many places on sites like Hostelworld.

Hotels in this region tend to be rather overpriced for what you get, private rooms are usually much better value. But it's rare to find details online, usually it's easier to go to a tourist agency when you arrive (look for one advertising "sobe" (rooms). In May there should be no shortage of accommodation.

There are buses from Dubrovnik to Kotor - see the timetable at http://www.libertasdubrovnik.com/voznired.swf but confirm the times at Dubrovnik bus station. Either get a direct bus to Kotor, which should take about 2 hours, or a bus to Herceg Novi from where there are frequent buses to Kotor.
