We call it Whitsun. 'Pentecost' is rarely used, and never in relation to the public holiday.
Our national holiday is two weeks on Monday: the late May Bank Holiday. I think, when I was very little, it moved about like Easter does but now it's fixed so it's always the last Monday in May. But people still talk about 'Whit week' or 'Whitsun' (or 'Whit Monday'), even when it isn't. |

It used to be a holiday here, Monday after Pentecost, but the government moved the red day status to the national day instead. A lot of people didn't like it because the national day can be any day of the week, as opposed to Pentecost when people would always have a long weekend. Plus a lot of people get married then also.
In Swedish it's called pingst and in Spanish Pentecostés. Not a holiday in my country tho. |

It's called 'Pinksteren' in Dutch and yes, Monday is a bank holiday (or 2nd Pinkster day as we call it).
