after about 6 months of virtually no rain at all, it is raining cats and dogs here in Barcelona! Yesterday was raining all day long, today seems to be the same, and the forecast is to continue for a few days more. This is truly exceptional as here the usual thing are short but intense rainstorms, not steady rain for days

Anyway, we desperately needed water, as the city was in orange alert, with previsions of water restrictions after the summer if it does not rain enough. Hopefully it keeps raining this was and it does not cause any harm

The only problem: Monday is a local holiday.... so after 6 month of drought, the rain is spoiling a long weekend, that most of us locals had planned to spend on the beach :( ..... It could have wait a few days, it will not had matter so much!

Yes, I know about global warming... just willing to comment

That is a real bummer about the rain and Glen (Fullmoonfever)was not happy about that either ,I bet almost nobody is happy about that .
If it makes you feel any better ()I doubt if it does ) they are predicting rain here tomorrow for Mothersday .
Not good but what can we do eh .

well, we have mixed feelings here.... its' a bummer about the long weekend of course. But everybody was so worried about the lack of water that we feel very relieved! It's strange to be happy and upset at the same time

Hopefully at least the reservoirs will get water enough to pass the summer

It's very windy and quite disgusting to be outside... Well, we shoudl plan some indoor activities I guess. There are quite a few films I've not seen yet. And these boring things at home you never find the time to do.

Just checked the forecast and it shows rain for the next 8 days! Incredible

In Denmark we have this saying -there is not such a thing as bad weather ,only bad clothing.

I'm leaving to the cinema. "Fuera de carta" a Spanish comedy, looks fun and one of my friends knows the director a some actors so he's insisting on we shoudl go!!

Its good that the water supplies will be replenished though.
Just booked up for 12 days in La Barceloneta in September. Hope it coincides with la Merce especially Fest de Ciel (cos mymy man-friend is ex RAF, and Ive told him how imporessive it is!!
Actually. don't mind a bit of rain (thunderstorm even) when in Barcelona. It's just so good to be there.

Yah... there is something definitely wrong with changes in weather last years

We had pouring rain here last Thursday, it was bad!
so me and my best friend went to the movies (hahaha Alan, and then, we ended up going to dance; but at the club, not in the rain)

and before the rain, was snow! SNOW IN MAY!!!!!!!!!??????? ugh, that's just plain wrong!
so ready for warmer days!
They said it will rain again on Monday

Isa, I know what you mean, Whenever we have visitors, it rains in Marbella LOL (And when it rains, it really does!). There is only one new thing in the weather here that I never experience since 1980 that we moved to Marbella .... the wind! Sometimes it is like being in Tarifa (without the nice dunes beaches of course and the good looking surfers, hehehe of course!)

Sorry about Monday :( We will try to compensate as soon as we all arrive to karlsruhe :-)

PD I also wanted to go to beach to get some colour for the Vt meeting, instead I had to go shopping, hard life! ;-)

It was raining in Valencia Thursday and Friday. This was unusual because I read that the average is 300 days of sunshine a year.

I'm back home in Indiana and its raining. But it is very green here.

Valencia hadn't had rain for 2 months. Most people were happy and didn't keep people off the streets, including me.

on a related note, I may be going back in late summer!

All the good weather is up here!! We have this summer like weather for a week now and it will continue into coming week.
