Hong Kong Establishment Day

I will be in Hong Kong in late June for two weeks. Will there be any celebrations during the Establishment Day on July 1 and 2? Any suggestions to what I can do while I'm there?

Hi there, I know it's considered a National Holiday both on July 1st and 2nd which means that post offices are closed etc... Though I'm sure you will still be able to shop at many places and of course do sightseeing.

but, will there be any ongoing celebrations as part of the Establishment Day? I'm sure there will be places to go and things to see while they are commemorating the day.

You know I don't know if there will be any celebrations but I will try and find out for you. I will contact a few friends I have living there and will get back to you.

Hi there,

I just heard from my friend who told me there will be a fireworks celebration that evening over Victoria Harbour which will coincide with the Symphony of Lights Celebration.
