| Dubrovnik | Suitcase Storage - Bicyclist Help? Posted: Fri May 9, 2008 03:31 PM UTC
I have a standard Samsonite suitcase that I will unpack in Budapest and would like to forward to Dubrovnik. I understand I can ship it with Hungarian Post but need an address to ship that will store it. I'm arriving in Budapest around June 1 and will be in Dubrovnik around July 1 for about 3-4 days. Does anyone have a suggestion where I might send this. The suitcase is just about empty. Thanks. Michael

You will have to know someone in Dubrovnik whom you trust and who trusts you.
Don't forget that Croatia is not part of the EU so this person will have to clear the customs and probably pay the customs taxes. Customs officials in Croatia are sometimes a nightmare and love to make a "problem" even from a single CD ordered from Amazon, let alone a big Samsonite suitcase..... The "problem" can be solved, but it always involves going to the customs office, filling in different forms, going to the post or bank to pay the fee..... I noticed you've been asking this question in forums for some time, but I still don't have the easy answer. Maybe if you try reserving a room in private home and ask the owners to do this favour to you? I would also try contacting NGO Bicikl here in Croatia (www.bicikl.hr) - they also have a forum and maybe will have some good suggestions for a fellow cyclist.
