| Cadiz | apartment in el barrio Posted: Fri May 9, 2008 12:13 PM UTC
Hi, I am considering renting a flat in calle de santiago which I think is in el Barrio. I haven't been to cadiz since I was a child and that area was quite run down then. Does anyone know what its like these days? My family are staying in the spa hotel but its a bit pricey for me. Advice much appreciated.

Do you mean Los Barrios in the province of Cadiz, not IN the town Cadiz?

There is a Calle de Santiago in the old centre of Cadiz, I live in Cadiz and as far as I am aware there is no barrio (neighbourhood) called EL barrio, that's why I'm not sure if you mean the town LOS Barrios. If you mean Cadiz capital then...
The area in general is not at all as run down as it used to be. Lots of renovation has taken place in the last few years. Now it is perfectly safe and is well situated. Los Barrios is a residential town. A bit boring and not the prettiest place.
