Croatia Hotel Help!
Posted: Fri May 9, 2008 09:22 AM UTC
My boyfriend and I are going to Zadar for 5 days in September but we're having problems finding hotels which are actualy IN Zadar...they all seem to be about 20km away which is a little inconvenient if you don't have a car!

Ideally we'd only like to book somewhere for the first night so we know we definitely have somewhere to stay, and then maybe wing it and try and find something cheaper/on an island after that...is this advisable??

We'd love to go out to Dugi Otok or another island...and we reckoned we'd be able to find accommodation when we got there...is that the case??

Yes, most of Zadar hotels are in the city surroundings.

There’s at least one one in the center, Kolovare:

Perhaps you’d check out private renters too; see other accommodation options here

Thanks, that helps! Do you think we'd be able to sort out some sort of accommodation on an insland when we got there or would you recommend doing it beofre we get there?

The peak of season is August so getting accommodation in Sep should not be a problem. However, no harm to book in advance if you know the dates.

I personally would not book in advance, it gives you more freedom.
