Washington D.C. Traveling from Reagan National Airport to Aberdeen, Maryland
Posted: Fri May 9, 2008 06:33 AM UTC
Hi,
I'm going to Aberdeen, MD here pretty soon and i need help with transportion from the two locations. I've been doing some research, as far as taking the metrorail to Amtrak Union Station but im not sure how all that stuff works. I'm from Fairbanks, AK visiting my husband for his memorial day weekend. I'm just worried about getting lost lol. It'll be my first time ever riding a train or anything so yea im kinda iffy about the whole thing. But i'd appreciate anyone's help with this.

You can take Metro from the airport to Union Station. From there, you CAN take Amtrak (www.amtrak.com) to Aberdeen, but there are only five trains a day that do this run. So it might not be practical. You may want to just take Amtrak or the MARC commuter train to Baltimore's train station (many, many trains to here) and have your husband pick you up there--it's another 25 minutes or so by car to Aberdeen.

And don't worry about getting lost. The Metro will pick you up right from the B/C terminal at National. If you're coming in on Alaska Airlines, the walkway to the metro platform is right up the escalator from their baggage claim. I would recommend just familiarizing yourself with the DC Metro map so you'll know your route well.
