hi, please advice how to maximize trip schedule from KL to ho chi minh city for a first timer like me for budget airlines, accomodation and 2 days iterinary. thanks much for your reply

For 2 days, I recommend Cu Chi tunnels which you can join a day tour which include visiting a local religion temple. Also the President's Palace with a tour which include where the American helicopter take off and where the Viet Cong tanks roll in during the fall of Saigon at the end of Vietnam War. It will be a rush to go the Mekong Delta tour but for me being from an Asean country, I have seen mangrove swamps and riverside villages elsewhere. Also do not miss the Vietnamese beef noodles and local drip coffee. If you are not going to Hanoi soon, go to the state museum and see if they still have the water puppet show. Of the main market, you can look only or try the local food and lots of shopping. Beware of the motorcyles... .have fun.

I think Cu Chi tunnel should be a must (abt 70km away from HCMC). And enjoy a city
tour would be nice.
