Hola! Never been in the aera, but in a google map search shows that the nearest supermarket is in Tolox (another village) 18 klm before Yunguera and another 29 klm before in Coin. Depends of course which route you are taking, if you are going from Malaga you may find much more things there.
Anyway, I hope that helps a bit! Have a good time!

Even is there isn't a gigantic supermarket there there will be small ones and local stores. Many will be closed on a Sunday and you won't be able to buy much pre cooked/frozen ready made meals or any foreign food but you shouldn't have to go to Tolox as to buy ingredients to make your dinners!!!!!! As I said there will only be a problem if you arrive late on a Sunday.
most supermarkets close at 9 but some local stores stay open later.

thanks a lot. lol no we arent looking to buy pre-made dinners or frozen foods, only to buy provisions for the house, staples and stuff for breakfast and dinner for a day or so.... we get in on saturday so will think about buying something that day if we arent too tired.

Another point to consider is that smaller shops and supermarkets will close between 2 and 6 for siesta time.
Hope this helps a bit.

They don't close for the siesta timeeeeee blint! They close because it is our lunch time and in Spain was traditional to go at home prepare the food, eat and if you had time do a little nap before going back to work, bt they don't close specifictly for the siesta timeeeee, that is a cliché.

DON'T HAVE TO BE SO RUDE. I LIVE IN SPAIN AND AT LEAST HERE IS WHAT WE CALL IT FOR WHEN THE SHOPS CLOSE. IT IS OBVIOUS THAT IT IS LUNCH TIME BUT LUNCH DOESN'T TAKE 4 HOURS!!!!!!!!!!!!! IT DOESN'T MEAN YOU HAVE TO SLEEP AT THAT TIME,JODER.

PLUS YOU MUST REMEMBER THE SOUTH IS VERY DIFFERENT FROM BARCELONA ESPECIALLY WHEN IT COMES TO THAT PART OF THE DAY AS IT IS MUCH HOTTER DOWN HERE IN SUMMER AND MORE PEOPLE STILL FOLLOW THE "CLICHE" OF HAVING A SIESTA.
