Bhutan Help needed in planning itinery
Posted: Thu May 8, 2008 02:04 PM UTC
Hi everybody,

My husband and me are planning a trip to Bhutan during the last week of May. We plan to fly to Paro and spend about 10 days exploring Bhutan.

Can someone please suggest a good itinery which involves trekking, sightseeing and eating exotic Bhutanese food. Also it would be great if you could suggest some hotels/places to stay.

We also might require a driver since we would be travelling independently and not as a part of a tour (Being Indian nationals, its not mandatory for us!). It would be great if you could suggest somebody you know.

I know this is a tall list. But looking forward to your replies as I want to make this a memorable gift to my husband for our second anniversary!!!

Thanks in advance!
Bhana

Independent travel is not permitted in Bhutan. Visitors are required to book travel through a registered tour operator in Bhutan. This may be done directly or through a travel agent abroad. A passport and visa are required for entry into and exit from Bhutan. Not sure about Indian nationals. Here are some suggestions for the tour operators you can book your trip with: Orient Flexi Pax Tours or Lingkor Tours & Treks. They also offer private car tours. For more information you can visit: www.bhutantravelers.com. As for the palces to see, definitely Drukgyal Dong, Satsam Chorten and Kyichu Lhajhang, Taktsang Monastery. In mu pnion the travel professinal’s advise will be very helpful in a country so extraordinary and unique.
