When we are in the US we like the Applebees chain, the steaks are excellent, prices very reasonable, portions huge AND they have Happy Hour.

I am sure there are others but there is comfort in knowing what you will get.

I'm sorry, but I have to disagree. Applebees is a budget chain throughout the United States serving food quality similar to TGI Fridays, Hard Rock Cafe, Bennigans, Chillis etc. Most of their food is pre-made and frozen. It is cheap, but if you are willing to spend $100 for two, you can get a steak that will make you feel like you're in heaven. Las Vegas is full of amazing steak houses.

I'd recommend:

Luxor Steak House or Del Frisco's Double Eagle Steak House, you can't go wrong with either one. The service, the steaks, and the atmosphere are great. Del Frisco's is located on Paradise Road, so depending where on the strip you are, you may have to take a taxi, while the Luxor Steak House is located in the Luxor Resort.

Enjoy!

A couple others, you can check out are Morton's and Ruth's Chris. Both are about a block away from the strip and both are chains, but both pretty good. If i remember correctly it would be about $100 for 2 or maybe a little less. hmmm or maybe not??

I had an excellent steak at Bally's several years ago. http://www.harrahs.com/casinos/ballys-las-vegas/restaurants-dining/ballys-steakhouse-detail.html. The wine list was reasonable priced and the bottle I had was very good. I am not a Ruth Chris fan, but many folks like those butter soaked steaks. (how about those mets?) Karl

I just received a coupon from Envy Steakhouse at the Renaissance Hotel (on Paradise Rd. near the Convention Center). $25 off $100 purchase OR $50 off $200 purchase. Expires 7/31/08. I have never eaten here but I figured I would offer the coupon to you. E-mail me privately at my VT account if you would like the coupon. Their menu (with prices) can be found on a link at the website below.

I would love to be able to eat at Morton's or Ruth Chris for $150 for two! That would be more like per person. Maybe it's the wine?

USanFrancisco has it right on. Del Frisco's Double Eagle Steak House is the place for steak, drinks, decor, and ambiance. Casual elegance is what I call it. The menu can become steep, if you have appetizers(crab cakes, yes), soup/salad(turtle soup is yummy), main course(24 oz. Porterhouse, medium rare) ,sides(spinach supreme and skillet potatoes and onions served family style), dessert(house made), and a drink or bottle of wine. But...what a memory of excellence in taste. Hey, your in Las Vegas, spurge!!!
