Are there any city sightseeing tour buses operated in Manila? Also let me know what are the major attractions in and around Manila, Philippines. All replies will be greatly appreciated.

In addition to the above, there's Ayala Museum, American Cemetery both in Makati. Day trips from Manila are Taal/Tagaytay, Corregidor Island.

If you like a market with modernized local flavor, try Tiendesitas, at the crossroad of Ortigas Ave. and C5 road.

Some old churches are also remarkable, mainly in the municipality of Manila, and the "Bamboo Organ" Church in Las Pinas (Zapote).

For a day-tour, you can go around Rizal, the home of the great painters of Philippines (Angono, Morong etc).

If you are interested in (traditional or modern) woodcurving, have a visit to Paete (East Laguna).

Also in East Laguna, you can visit the wonderful calm landscape of Caliraya lake and the Pagsanhan falls (where the "Apocalypse now" was filmed).

I think this was posted already on another thread, or maybe on another travel forum. But Carlos Celdran seems to be a popular tour guide in the Manila. Haven't had a chance to try him yet, but heard a lot of good things.

rpak: VT Manila had the opportunity of joining Carlos Celdran's Chinatown tour last year. He has his own style of delivering his spiel - witty, funny, satire - which makes the tour light, casual and not boring nor stiff. However, I heard (though have not verified it), that he has temporarily stopped his Manila tours due to a rift with the city administration. Instead, he has scheduled art work walking tours at The Fort (Global City) this May. If I recall right, May 3 and 17 after lunch.
