If you google 'car hire ljubljana' you will get lots of international car hire and Slovenian firms. B
It's best to get quotes from several, because rates and car types will vary. Multi-nationals tend to cost more than nationally-based firms. As you have a little one with you remember to check for and book a child safety seat.

If you are flying in to Ljubljana, then there are a few rental firms at Brnik airport, which is north of the city, towards Bled. You avoid the city with its parking problems - at least for the initial part of your trip.
