Pakistan visa advice

thanks to all who gave replies to my q yesterday, def food for thought. one good point was the question of getting a visa. i didnt realise i would need a work permit to visit/work in pakistan if my husband already has a pakistani passport??? he told me there is some type of green card you can get so that you dont have to apply for a visa each time you enter the country?? i know your all prob wondering y im not asking my husband these questions as he shld b in a position to know all the answers, but i really want to find out the answers to the heaps of questions i have on my own, at least i can show i am seriously considering a move rather than going along with it for his sake. i just believe that to make such a big change in lifestyle reuires both sides to be happy about it. appart from the green card possibility?? - anyone no where i can get a detailed street map of karachi from?? i've looked in like every bookstore in london all with the same response: a frown and thinking im having them on, like i cant be serious and does anyone ever go there!

Hi,

If you're married to pakistani national, you can apply in your home country with the papers in a Pak embassy or high commission, who'll give you a Pakistan Origin card (POC),that's the green card, which'll help you to work, live and enjoy all the facilities, like other Pakistanis.

In a relationship, sacrifce's needed on the both sides, especially in your situation, and tolerance, because there're always obstacles, in adopting and making yourself comfortable in a new culture.

Detailed map, from any big book store in the city, that's not a problem.

I'm listening to Kishore ji's songs, Ghongroo ki tarah bajta hi rahan hoon main, and what're you doing fellow VTErs?

Moving to Chitral day after tomorrow and then to Kalash valleys for the spring festival and trekking.

Bon voyage au Pakistan.

Yes Imran is right. Actually we were discussing on all options regarding a forienger working in Pakistan. May be your husband has already completed paperwork of your Pakistani Nationality. Or HIS American Nationality (Just joking).

I meant to say that depends this time how you travel to Pakistan. Just on a travel Visa or throuhg proper procedure/paperwork after getting POC (Pakistan Origin Card). If you get Pakistani green Ccard then there is no need of work permit, but if you travel without preparation just on travel visa then you won't be a Pakistani citizen here.
